Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth NWR

NWR: "Dont let the cute chibi characters fool you; this is one heck of a challenging game. Atlus knows its fan base so well its become an art form. Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth is an insane mash-up of the casts from Persona 3 and Persona 4 placed in the dungeon-crawling world of Etrian Odyssey and chibi-fied. Right from the start, the game is a high-energy blast that really feels at home on the 3DS. While some things feel a little truncated for the portable console, its still a solid title that fans of both Persona and Etrian Odyssey fans can get lost in."

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth - Anime News Network

Anime News Network: Thrown together across time, the casts of Persona 3 and 4 navigate a very Etrian Odyssey labyrinth with a very Persona set of abilities. Though the series seem at odds with each other--Etrian Odyssey's barely-there story clashes with Persona's sappy melodrama and proclamations of friendship--both focus their gameplay on crunchy stat management and resource conservation. Some things have been lost in synthesis, there isn't a social link in sight and the world explorations and micro-dungeons of later Etrian Odyssey games are nowhere to be found, but Persona Q does a good job representing and combining the basic draws of both.

The short video above was released by Atlus today via its Japanese Youtube account, though fans have correctly identified the game announcement as Etrian Odyssey V.

You won't find more than a fans logo sequence and a shot of the world, though it looks decidedly vibrant and far reaching. We have little else to go on, though Atlus does provide a home page for the title. We'll watch the site for more and continue our coverage of Atlus games with Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, out this week.
